Curriculum
This class is designed for young French learners working from A2 toward B1 level. Students develop greater independence in French and learn to express themselves with more detail and confidence in both speaking and writing.
The program reinforces previously acquired skills while introducing more complex language structures and communication tasks.
Students will learn to:
- Talk about past events and future plans with greater accuracy.
- Express hypotheses and use the conditional.
- Give and explain opinions on a variety of age-appropriate topics.
- Participate in longer conversations and discussions.
- Develop more complex sentences and expand their vocabulary.
- Write letters, messages, short texts, and structured compositions.
- Strengthen reading and listening comprehension using authentic French materials.
- Review and consolidate important grammar concepts as needed.
Grammar and language structures include past tenses, future forms, the conditional, more complex sentence structures, connectors, and other A2–B1 concepts according to the students' progress.
For older students, the class can also help strengthen skills useful for school French and future AP French preparation, particularly speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
The curriculum is adapted to the group, with an emphasis on fluency, independent communication, and expressing ideas naturally in French.
Books
- You will receive a book recommendation upon your registration or copies. The teachers may also use some other books (grammar, vocabulary etc...) to reinforce a point and will hand out copies. Please bring a binder, a notebook and pencils.
